OSALT understands the complex considerations and needs of rural property owners. You have worked hard to maintain what you have, and you don’t want to see that effort lost; not in your lifetime and not ever. We believe that all agriculturally viable and previously farmed land deserves our mutual efforts to keep it in sustainable production.
OSALT aims to achieve this by connecting land with organic farmers and land stewards, supporting them in making decisions for soil health, natural food web rebuilding and anticipating how climate change will impact the land and the region’s producers.
We are increasingly planning and implementing perennial food systems not only as a sustainable farming practice but also as a responsible agricultural response to the increasing pressures of climate change.
