Clackamas County Urban Green

Clackamas County Urban Green is raising awareness about the need for preserving the north Clackamas County urban tree canopy and other natural features in our neighborhoods. The "densification" of the areas of Clackamas County that lie within the urban growth boundary (UGB) is well underway, and residents are beginning to see the effects this is having on their neighborhoods. There are many tales about properties being subdivided and clear cut, followed by large houses being crammed together with minimum setbacks and minimal yards. In the process, most, sometimes all, of the native trees are cut down. Urban Green is an association of neighbors who want to do something about this. We want to establish some reasonable rules that will protect our urban tree canopy. Urban Green does not oppose development. However, we want development to be intelligently conceived to preserve the natural features in our neighborhoods.
