Barnes Lane is OSALT’s newest property! In 2012, Multnomah County donated this small half lot across the street from Mt. Hood Community College. The site has a stunning view of Mt. Hood.
Our plans are to create a small food forest on the site, potentially with European chestnuts, English walnuts and red currants. We will use our best permaculture approaches to develop the food forest on this site, while maintaining the perfect view of Mt. Hood. Over time, we will publish our experiences as part of research on small scale urban food forests.
We need your help! If you live near Mt. Hood Community College, we’d love to create a small group of dedicated people to plant and manage this new food forest. Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
